Mission Report

Dear brother and Sister in Christ,

Greetings in the sweetest name of Jesus Christ our Lord!

Thank you for your excitement about the training program that we have been doing since 2004. Also, thank you for your prayers for the newest graduates. Please join us in praying that this coming year, 2007, we can have the 4th Batch of six interns in our Missionary Training Program (MTP). Despite the insufficiency of funds to keep the program alive, we strongly believe that God will make a way for us to support these passionate and energetic students for God’s work. We believe that God will continue to touch the hearts of the more fortunate ones in the brotherhood to fill this need.

For this purpose, the Centrepoint Church has commissioned me to raise the necessary funds for the 2007 MTP Batch 4, six more missionary interns for training in church planting. I consider this task a privilege, regardless of its hardships and challenges. It gives me the opportunity of communicating with generous and mission-minded people like you and the benefit of knowing more brethren.

For your information, each of these new missionary interns only needs US$80.00 per month for his or her food, housing and transportation. We have ONE earnest plea to any congregation or individual that might be interested in seeing God’s kingdom grow in the Philippines. That plea is to ONE MISSIONARY INTERN for the cause of Christ. The ONE whom you are going to support for only US$80.00 per month, for just one year, would help strengthen many congregations in the Philippines which are in need of workers. During Phase 1 of the Missionary Training Program, interns will be required to have a mini on-field training aside from their regular academic classes. Each weekend, they will be required to serve in various congregations within the city. (Please refer to the attached schedule of activities for additional details). The 6-month Phase 2 will concentrate on Church Planting mission work, just as was done in Tagaytay City in 2004, in San Carlos City in 2005 and in Pacdal, Baguio City this year.

We continue to be excited about the on-going effectiveness of this One-Year Missionary Training Program (MTP) as a tool for Church Planting Missions! We will be all the more excited if you will be a part of this great cause by supporting ONE missionary intern for a ONE year, resulting in the planting of a church which would not have happened without your help and support. What a wonderful extension of your faith that will be, to the praise and glory of God!

Please let me know of individuals in your congregation who have a Passion for mission work and who might be willing to support ONE student to become a missionary in his native land, thereby bringing more souls back to God.

BAGUIO MISSION WORK REPORT (July 2007)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I can’t believe that it’s already the end of July! This year is flying by, and I hope that 2007 has been more prosperous for you than 2006. I know that it’s been a very lucrative year for all of us and it is just proper for us to give thanks always to God for His great providence! Anyway, I was dared to do something today – our Baguio mission work report. Again, I beg your pardon for its delay….

I am so happy to inform you that the Centrepoint Church has just hired its new pulpit minister and his monthly allowance is from the Church treasury itself! Brother JOHN RAY DAYUCOS is a long time friend of Erwin Panday, one of the professors of University of Cordilleras, a resident of Baguio, Married to Sister Juliet Dayucos with 3 kids and has been taking up Law course. He is an active member of the Baguio Church of Christ and been preaching for long. His passion is really on edifying members through his very powerful and inspiring messages from the word of God. Everyone is asking me how about Erwin Panday now? Well, Erwin will be serving as the full time CCOC minister. His main task is to visit, edify members and conduct home devotionals from every family. Now that he already reached the peak of his success as CCOC pulpit minister for almost 3 years, he decided to stepped down and let John Ray to be mentored and trained by him.

As I reported recently, the Baguio Mission Team (BMT) is no longer the front liner in making plans and implementing programs for the Church but already the leaders installed last year. Aside from that, we were able to form a new fizzy and ambitious team – CAMPUS LIFE MISSION TEAM (CLMT) composed of 4 missionary interns (MTP batch 4) under the leadership of Romulo Banggawan, a graduate of MTP batch 3. According to Erwin Panday who serves as CLMT coordinator said, there are 40 active members now from University of Baguio (UB) and committed their selves to support the campus life ministry. Lord willing, September would be the start of our first ever campus worship likely the house worship that we have started last June.

We are still worshipping at the same building and I am glad to tell you that it’s almost a year now that the leaders paid our monthly rental.

The recent LST program that we have hosted for 6 weeks was a success! We got a hundred quality prospects and we are now doing a massive follow up. We have lots of scheduled home Bible Study now. Oh, by the way, during the LST reading sessions from May 14 – June 22 there were two souls who were baptized in addition to our 10 baptisms since February 2007.

The CCOC leaders maintain its once a week Paragon meeting (Every Thursday afternoon) to tackle things that would progress the mission of the Church, strengthen the membership and help us to reach our 5 years target or goal. Likewise, our ladies, young professionals, young people have also their once a week ON FOCUS devotional.

Our Pacdal outreach, the centrepoint Church that we launched last February where brother Mike Smith served as the guest speaker has its new minister after Rudy Catangjal didn’t renew his contracts last June. Romulo Banggawan is now serving as the minister and at the same time leading the Campus Life Mission Team (CLMT).

May God continue to bless our effort and give increase to it. Regards to all!

Alex B. Coloma

I preach at the National Road church of Christ in Wheeling, West Virginia (USA). The elders and I have recently discussed correspondence we have received several times from an individual in the Philippines. Was wondering if you might know of him. He claims to have baptized several people, including 5 Pentecostal ministers. He claims to have a training school for preachers, as well as preaching at numerous congregations during the month.

His name and address:

June Macusi
Prado, Dingras

If you do not have any information, do you know anyone who might?
